Manila

Metro Manila is the total urban area that is composed of different cities and the surrounding urban fringe. The proper city Manila is only one of the big cities of this urban agglomeration. Metro Manila, or the 'National Capital Region' as they say in the Philippines, is a real metropolitan area. On 636 square kilometre live more than 10 million inhabitants.

BOHOL

Bohol is an island province in the Philippines located in the Central Visayas region. . The province is a popular destination for its beaches, resorts and historical churches. The Chocolate Hills, numerous mounds of limestone formation, is Bohol’s most popular attraction. The island of Panglao, located just southwest of Tagbilaran City, is famous for its diving locations and listed as one of the diving destinations in the world. Numerous world class resorts dot this area catering to intrepid divers around the world.

AKLAN

Volunteers may be involved in various activities and projects in the area such as:

  • Mangrove Planting - Engage in mangrove planting at the most successful mangrove reforested area in Asia! Take time out from the white powdered beaches of Boracay and help fight the degradation of mangroves. The Bakhawan Eco-park covers 106 hectares of mangrove forest in Aklan. There are 36 hectares of mudflats that need to be planted.

Laguna, resort province of the Philippines, is a haven for fresh and pristine bodies of water such as hot springs, lakes and waterfalls. Laguna is not only endowed with natural wonders, but also has rich soil to grow colorful flowers and sweet tropical fruits.

ORIENTAL MINDORO

Oriental Mindoro is a pioneering travel destination in the Philippines committed to natures landscapes including Puerto Galera. Over at nearby Mount Halcon, indulge in reforestation activities at the country’s third highest peak. It is a favourite destination for nature tripping and mountain climbing. Sign up with the Halcon Heritage Forest Museum at San Teodoro, The Halcon Heritage Forest Museum’s advocacy is the conservation of biodiversity through trees, specifically from alien species invasion. The project hopes to bring back the indigenous trees which had been depleted as a result of these invasions.
